Statutory initial inspection

A statutory initial inspection is carried out for work that involves a special risk of illness. Such exposures that cause a special risk of illness can be of many types; biological, chemical, physical or other factors that can endanger health.

If you are starting a new job and are not aware of the exposures causing special risk of illness in your job, ask your supervisor before making an appointment with occupational health care.

The content of the initial inspection will be determined by the exposures at work. If you have other health-related issues (e.g. treatment of long-term illnesses or investigation of symptoms), please make a separate appointment to discuss these.

If you have been instructed that the inspection also includes drug testing, please first submit a call request for your designated occupational health nurse via online booking.

If you choose the initial inspection via video, you can access the video appointment either through the LRTT OmaTyöterveys application, which you can read more about under "Mobile application".
